Peterborough United have been linked with a move for Jack Hendry.

According to the local Peterborough Telegraph the out of favour defender has been discussed as a potential loan target.

Last week Brendan Rodgers revealed that he was keen for Hendry to get some game time elsewhere but that wish has been complicated by injury concerns over Filip Benkovic and Dedryck Boyata.

There hasn’t been much speculation about which clubs would be interested in Hendry who joined Celtic in a £1.2m deal from Dundee exactly 12 months ago.

Rodgers played Kris Ajer and Jozo Simunovic last night against St Johnstone with Hendry and Nir Bitton the next options for central defence.

If the hoops decide to let Hendry go to Peterborough he will have the chance to link up with Sinki Dembele, brother of Celtic’s Karamoko, although Jason Cummings is expected to move on during this window.

Darren Ferguson, son of Alex, is back in charge of Peterborough following the sacking of Steve Evans despite the one time Leeds boss steering the club into sixth place in the League One table.
