Kilmarnock piled the pressure onto Celtic tonight with a 2-1 win over Steven Gerrard’s All Stars.

Jermain Defoe made a dream debut for the Ibrox club by scoring after 11 minutes but Kilmarnock equalised before the break through Eamon Brophy.

Midway through the second half Ibrox bound Jordan Jones scored from 25 yards to the embarrassment of Allan McGregor.

Killie held on comfortably for full points to take over in second place as Celtic crushed St Mirren 4-0 to keep a point clear of the Ayrshire side.

The Ibrox club are now three points behind leaders Celtic who have a game in hand which will be played next Wednesday at home to St Johnstone.

Aberdeen join Gerrard’s side on 42 points with Derek McInnes’ side hosting Kilmarnock on Saturday.

On Saturday Celtic face Hamilton at home with the Ibrox club away to Livingston 24 hours later.
