Joe Worrall faces double discipline from Steven Gerrard and Martin O’Neill after a foul mouthed rant about Celtic on social media.

The England youth team starlet has had a nightmare time in 2019 starting off with an incredible assist in the 2-1 defeat from Kilmarnock following the winter break.

Last Sunday he topped that off by backing off Odsonne Edouard for 50 yards before watching the French striker open the scoring. In the closing minutes he had the chance to make up for that error but went to pieces in front of the Celtic goal allowing Kris Ajer to make a memorable clearance.

That little outburst after attending the club Player of the Year Awards night in the city centre will almost certainly attract the attention of Gerrard who has grown unhappy with the lack of professionalism among his squad.

O’Neill was happy to leave Worrall on loan at Ibrox in January but will be less than pleased by his antics and thoughts on a club that he managed for five seasons.

Having punished John Guidetti and Leigh Griffiths for incidents away from matches it remains to be seen if the SFA will take action against the Ibrox starlet.
