Sevco are believed to be preparing a double swoop of Aberdeen for Max Lowe and Greg Stewart.

While Steven Gerrard went public looking for match winning quality it seems that the club’s international scouting operation have been unable to uncover any players outside of the SPFL.

Jordan Jones and Jake Hastie have signed pre-contract agreements to join next season’s Revolution with the Daily Record revealing the swoop to take Lowe on loan.

With club legend Lee Wallace about to be released and Borna Barisic failing to make an impact bringing in a left-back is a priority for Gerrard.

Lowe has made 40 appearances for Aberdeen while on loan from Derby with the Ibrox club hoping to secure a loan deal with Frank Lampard for next season.

It seems that the wait to discover the full extent of the compensation due to Sports Direct for breaking the merchandising and retail deal has frozen this summer’s transfer war-chest.

With Alfredo Morelos left out of Colombia’s 40 man preliminary squad for the Copa America it’s highly unlikely that the £20m asking price for the striker will be met.
