Eboue Kouassi is a transfer target of Panathinaikos.

The Greek club were linked with Mikey Johnston and Lewis Morgan earlier in the transfer window and seem to have some sort of line of communication with Celtic.

Kouassi suffered cruciate ligament damage during the Betfred Cup semi=final in October but is now back in full training although way down the pecking order for a midfield place.

Greek website SDNA, via Google translate! Reports:

Panathinaikos’s technical manager wanted to meet with Calum Roberts to “dress” in the green and “check” cases of players who may be involved in the team. In the context of this search, according to Ethnosport, he was not only found with Newcastle people, but he went to Scotland to discuss with Celtic.

Kouassi made just five appearances last season before being injured in the match that signaled Ryan Christie’s breakthrough as a Celtic player.

The hoops paid a reported £2m to Krasnodar in January 2017 but almost as soon as he arrived in Scotland he was struck down by malaria.

As well as Christie making his mark Ewan Henderson has been given some opportunities with Luca Connell also brought into midfield by Neil Lennon.

If Kouassi makes a success of his move to Greece there is every chance that the deal could become permanent.
