Neil Lennon has revealed that Marian Shved is back in full training.
The winger has become something of a mystery after scoring away to Nomme Kalju but failing to build on that with in-and-out inclusions in the Ukrainian national side.
Shved was signed at the end of the January transfer window and instantly loaned back to Karpaty Lviv.
Celtic fans followed his progress through You Tube before the 22-year-old returned to Scotland to play a full part in Celtic’s pre-season preparations.
The goal against Kalju certainly whetted the appetite but injuries have hampered his progress although it now seems that Shved is in a position to challenge for a top team place.
Rounding up injuries at his media conference Lennon said:
Griff’s out, Bitton and Johnston I’m hoping will join the squad on Monday. Shved is back in training but again he hasn’t had much playing time. Moritz, he missed the game on Wednesday but he’ll be fine so he’s come back into the squad so we are looking pretty well at the minute.
Just as at full-back Celtic are very well covered for wingers with Mo Elyounoussi joining the club on loan just before the transfer window closed.
James Forrest and Mikey Johnston appear to be the first picks for those positions with Lewis Morgan, Scott Sinclair and Johny Hayes among the other options open to the Celtic boss.
