One young Celtic fan picked up an early Christmas gift when he went home from the 4-0 win over Livingston with Leigh Griffiths’ shirt.
The striker was playing his first match in three months and was given a heroes’ welcome when he replaced Odsonne Edouard in the 68th minute.
After scoring twice in a midweek friendly against Stenhousemuir Neil Lennon decided that the time was right to recall the striker into his first team plans.
Once James Forrest put Celtic 3-0 it was time for Griffiths to get on the pitch and although he didn’t score he kept the Livingston defence busy enough.
Lennon will now put to use five days preparations for the Europa League tie against Rennes where he will be looking for a win despite qualification already being assured.
Finishing as group winners should in theory give Celtic an ‘easier’ draw in the February knock-out phase.
