Neil Lennon has confirmed that Ismaili Soro is one of his January transfer targets.

The Bnei Yehuda midfielder has been linked with a move to Celtic with his Israeli club confirming European interest in the 21-year-old.

Celtic appear to be well covered in midfield but in the summer only a medical prevented the transfer of David Turnbull while there are regular reports of interest in Olivier Ntcham.

There are no quotes from Lennon after the win over St Mirren but the comment below suggest a nod of the head or smile when Soro’s name was mentioned.

The Daily Record reports:

Lennon, who confirmed Ivorian midfielder Ismaili Soro is amongst the names on the target list, heaped praise of Odsonne Edouard, who created the goals for Callum McGregor and James Forrest in the triumph.

Apart from the dead rubber away to Cluj Callum McGregor and Scott Brown have started every match in central midfield over the last two months.

Nir Bitton and Ntcham offer cover in that area but the interest in Turnbull confirmed Celtic’s interest in strengthening that position.

Soro joined Bnei Yehuda from FK Gomel of Belarus in January 2018 and is under contract until June 2021.
