Harry Brady has made an unexpected attack on Peter Lawwell as Celtic fans brace themselves for the end of a completely underwhelming transfer window.
‘Brady’ hosts the long running Celtic Underground podcast, in the summer of 2018 his interview with Lawwell revealed details of the club’s transfer strategy which appeared to cover every eventuality.
A database included worldwide players, key contract and contact details to ensure that Celtic were never caught short with a long list of targets dependent on availability at the time. The podcast also celebrated the installation of disco lights and a hybrid pitch.
Celtic Underground is also one of the hand-picked fan sites given access to official Celtic media conferences.
At the start of transfer window it seemed certain that Neil Lennon would add two experienced players to his youthful squad, with less than 10 hours to go until the transfer window closes the hoops have signed a pair of 21-year-olds from Israel and Poland.
Hopes of Victor Wanyama and/or Filip Benkovic arriving in a blaze of glory tonight are fast fading with the Tottenham midfielder too expensive while the Leicester defender appears close to joining Bristol City on loan.
Lawwell has been keeping a very low profile over the last year but with each passing transfer window Celtic fans are increasingly questioning the role of the clubs’ highest paid employee.
Last January Celtic signed Marian Shved, Vakoun Bayo, Andrew Gutman, Manny Perez, Oli Buke, Jeremy Toljan ad Timo Weah.
