Celtic’s fall-out with Sky Sports appears to have been a three week wonder.
At the start of February the broadcaster screened an interview with Alfredo Morelos that claimed he had suffered racist abuse from Celtic fans. The interview and allegations were played constantly on Sky Sports and Sky News as well as the broadcasters’ other platforms.
The player spoke throughout the interview in Spanish with the translation miles apart from what he actually said, Celtic wasn’t mentioned during the entire interview.
After a statement from Celtic Sky apologised and ditched the interview but no explanation was offered which prompted Celtic into making a complaint to Ofcom.
Sky Sports were denied access to Celtic’s media conferences for the matches against Clyde and Hearts but had exclusive interviews with Neil Lennon, Kris Ajer and Chris Jullien during the live match at Aberdeen.

During the week Sky Sports were given access to Lennoxtown to film a ‘You Know The Drill’ feature with Jimmy Bullard alongside Odsonne Edouard, Olivier Ntcham, Scott Bain and Damien Duff.
Sky’s next live Celtic fixture is the Glasgow derby on March 15, it seems that the comments wrongly attributed to Morelos about the Celtic support have been forgiven by the club.
