Celtic’s Supporter Liaison Officer has admitted that it ‘might be a while’ before the club hosts another home match.

John Paul Taylor was tweeting about Food Bank collections but the message is getting out to fans that the suspension of football is more likely to be measured in terms of months rather than weeks.

During the course of a season the Green Brigade and the Celtic Foundation hold a couple of collections which tend to turn the Celtic Way into a see of plastic bags full of food items to be distributed to local charities.

Food Banks have been badly hit by the Coronavirus epidemic with people panic buying, storing up food for weeks ahead with donations to Food Banks dropping significantly.

Throughout Scotland there are Food Banks in every town with Celtic fans being urged to give locally rather than wait for another home match.

The last match played at Celtic Park was on March 7 when St Mirren visited, last week the Joint Response Group for Scottish football announced that there would be no fixtures before the end of April with that date likely to be pushed back even further.
