Five weekends without football but it’s all kicked off in Scotland this weekend.

With cash running out rapidly at Ibrox against a pile of court cases the last thing that is needed is celebrations across the city as a nineth successive title is celebrated.

Over Friday and Saturday it was looking like a score draw with the club from Ibrox first out with statements but on each occasion the SPFL were quick to reply to level the scores.

On Saturday night the Ibrox support played their ace card with a petition to have Neil Doncaster removed as CEO of the SPFL.

Unusually for the Ibrox support this petition is a winner with supporters across Scottish football. Doncaster was one of the Sevco architects in 2012, helping to parachute the new club into League Two then turning a blind eye to their pretentions to the ill-gotten gains of the club that died of shame with 276 creditors ranging from Her Majesty to a Face Painter.

Working in tandem with their unrestrained social media outlets Doncaster is the target for doing something really, really bad but they don’t quite know what.

Since he took office Doncaster tried everything to save the old club then cleared the decks to accommodate its successor, few have done more to create an Old Firm rivalry than the man that led Norwich to relegation to League One in 2009.
