Celtic are looking to stage a weekend double headers, playing Dundalk or Derry City on Saturday followed by a game against Motherwell on Sunday.

The hoops completed a three match trip to France with a 4-0 defeat from Paris Saint Germain with the core of Lennon’s squad playing the full 90 minutes.

Tom Rogic made his first appearance of the season when he came on for the last 20 minutes with the weekend double header giving as many players as possible the chance to get a full 90 minutes.

The Daily Record reports:

Lennon is hoping to line up Dundalk or Derry City at Celtic Park this weekend if the Irish government agree an air bridge with Scotland.

The champions will also face Motherwell on Sunday and Lennon wants his men to get used to home comforts again.

With the SPFL season starting the following weekend the weekend games will be the perfect opportunity for Lennon to push all of his squad as far as possible.

In France a first XI was virtually established although a knock to Scott Brown in training caused a change to tonight’s team.

By mixing up the first XI over the two weekend games Lennon will be able to assess the full fitness of his squad and give time to Kerr McInroy and Luca Connell who travelled to France but never got any game time.
