Douglas Ross will be on the line at Celtic’s match against Livingston on Saturday.

It is the first time he will officiate at a Celtic match as the leader of the Scottish Tory party, if he is unavailable for any reason he won’t be replaced by Baroness Davidson waving a flag and screaming red card.

The road to Glasgow is nothing new to the Westminster MP for Moray who has been on duty for five of the eight Glasgow derbies staged at Ibrox since 2016.

Despite his shifts at Westminster the MP for Moray is maintaining his highly lucrative hobby of officiating at SPFL Premiership matches where he picks up £475 per match plus mileage and expenses.

Last month Ross decided to miss a commemoration service for VJ Day held in his own constituency in favour of picking up a match fee at the Kilmarnock v St Johnstone match.

Gavin Duncan will referee the game against Livingston with John Beaton in the middle for Wednesday’s match away to St Mirren.
