Within 48 hours of returning from Dubai Celtic have announced that one player has tested positive.
The club was heavily criticised for taking their squad to the UAE in the midst of a global pandemic with the breaking news this afternoon bound to increase criticism of the training trip.
No name has been released about the test but this morning the club released pictures and a video from training which appeared to feature the entire first team squad.
Celtic today confirmed that one player has recorded a positive test for covid-19. Clearly the player will receive all our care and full support.
All other members of our squad, management team and backroom squad are negative.

Decisions will now have to be made on self-isolation with the club having to explain the impact on others during an eight hour flight back from Dubai on Friday.
Protocols will involve contacting the SFA and SPFL with the strong defence of the trip now wearing thin in the wake of the attention it attracted from the Scottish Government.
At yesterday’s media conference John Kennedy took the questions for the first time this season with Neil Lennon reported to be involved in other business.
