On the back of Jeremie Frimpong’s sudden exit Neil Lennon has confirmed that other players are looking for a way out but that he doesn’t expect many to follow.

That comment can be interpreted in a variety of ways but would suggest that one or two more will be following the young Dutchman out the door.

Odsonne Edouard, Kris Ajer, Ryan Christie and Olivier Ntcham are all out of contract in June 2022, with no sign of contract extensions they seem the most likely players to be looking for a move.

A major turnover was expected in the summer- Shane Duffy, Moi Elyounoussi and Diego Laxalt will return to their parent clubs- but the expected exit of Frimpong highlights just how extensive the rebuild will be.

With Scott Brown turning 36 in June and out of contract the side that starts the 2021/22 season looks like barely being recognisable from the one that started the current season.

During the summer transfer window Celtic never sold anyone but it looks like they are about to balance the books now after paying fees for David Turnbull, Vasilis Barkas and Albian Ajeti.
