HEARTS are out of the Scottish Cup- losing 2-1 away to Brora Rangers in the second round.

In December Robbie Neilson watched his side lost out to Celtic on penalties in the final of the competition but there will be no Hampden trips for the Jambos this season.

Brora hadn’t played in 71 days but despite that handicap were well worth their win tonight against their glamorous opponents.

Jordan MacRae gave Brora a 12th minute lead which they retained until half time without being put under undue pressure.

Hearts sent on Liam Bryce at the interval and drew level in the 70th minute when Christophe Berra levelled the scores.

Brora weren’t to be denied with Martin MacLean restoring their lead in the 75th minute with Hearts unable to come up with a second equaliser. Craig Gordon is with the Scotland squad.

Andy Halliday was suspended for tonight’s match, Lee McCulloch is assistant manager to hipster, Robbie Nielson.
