Celtic are denying that a verbal agreement has been struck with Ange Postecoglou.

It is now 10 days since Celtic were reported to be in advanced talks with Plan B after Eddie Howe rejected the chance to take charge of the club.

A report from Australian radio station SEN claimed that Postecoglou would be on his way to Celtic on Wednesday with Sky Sports reporter Anthony Joseph repeating that claim in a tweet today.

Now the landscape seems to have changed with news that Kevin Muscot won’t be part of a new look coaching team which could put the whole move in doubt.

Tonight, after announcing that Muscot isn’t Celtic-bound, the Glasgow Times reveals:

Meanwhile, despite reports that Postecoglou had verbally agreed terms to become the new Celtic manager today, it is understood that hasn’t happened just yet.

Talks between Celtic, Postecoglou and his current club Yokohama F Marinos are however still progressing well, with the club confident of a successful outcome this week.

Pre-season training for Celtic begins on June 17 with John Kennedy almost certain to be in charge ahead of a training trip to Wales where they will play three matches against English clubs.

The first competitive matches of next season will be on July 20/21 and 27/28 in Champions League qualifiers.
