Celtic will put Benfica winger Jota through a medical on Monday ahead of signing a loan deal with Benfica.
The 22-year-old left-winger could quickly find himself in Ange Postecoglou’s plans with Kyogo Furuhashi, James Forrest and Ryan Christie playing in that position in recent matches.
Mikey Johnston seems to be the only naturally left-sided winger at Celtic but the u-21 internationalist hasn’t featured since being injured during Celtic’s pre-season friendlies.

Loan to buy deals seem to be growing in popularity with ‘selling’ clubs keen to reduce their wage bill with ‘buying’ sides wanting to check out the goods before committing.
With two days left before the transfer window closes Celtic are likely to be busy as Postecoglou continues his rebuild while Odsonne Edouard and Ryan Christie could be on their way out.
Jota is under contract with Benfica until 2024 but spent last season on loan at Real Valladolid.
