Last night Gerrard’s Ibrox exit picked up pace with the big hitters at the Telegraph reporting his interest in the job vacated by Dean Smith on Sunday.
Chris Jack of the Glasgow Times and Keith Jackson of the Daily Record were quickly on the story last night as they discussed compensation and a losing battle for the Ibrox board.
A video clip of Gerrard and his agent arriving in London surfaced at lunchtime with only the scheduling of the official announcement still to be decided with Derek McInnes, Barry Ferguson, Shelley Kerr, Nuno Espirito Sanchez and Robbie Neilson the favourites to inherit Gerrard’s brogues.
