It wasn’t the greatest of starts when he slipped trying to get onto a pass from Liam Scales but on his first team debut Owen Moffat delivered quality rather than quantity.

Moffat had replaced Adam Montgomery after 63 minutes, soon after Ross County had equalised with Celtic badly in need to a lift.

It seemed to be about five minutes before Scales laid that pass off but Moffat recovered and showed his eye for goal with a decent looking shot that required a deflection to take the sting off it.

In injury time Moffat made his mark, showing a cool head as the pressure mounted with Celtic chasing an equaliser.

Five minutes in he played the pass to Callum McGregor that resulted in a shot at goal that struck a Ross County elbow before going for a corner.

From the cleared corner it would have been easy to fire in a shot at goal- instead he played the ball to McGregor who fed Tom Rogic before the back post cross that Rony Ralston headed home.

It was far from a gentle, controlled debut but definitely one that won’t be quickly forgotten.
