The double standards of Scottish referees were again highlighted at Dens Park.

With their team trailing 1-0 a cross into the Dundee penalty box found Alfredo Morelos pushing and pulling at Jordan McGhee, as the Dundee defender fell to the ground he grabbed at Morelos which was all that Madden needed to point to the penalty spot. Justice wasn’t done when James Tavernier skied his effort over the bar.

Justice would be done if Madden wasn’t seen near another high profile match for two months, with three Glasgow derbies on the horizon he is likely to be appointed for one of those matches.

A month ago at Ibrox Ryan Porteous was preparing for the delivery of a corner. To assist Nick Walsh the ball was static as Calvin Bassey wrestled and jostled with the Hibs defender, eventually he pushed Porteous to the ground which was enough for Walsh to award a free-kick to the home team.

Between October 3 and December 12 Walsh was in charge of three matches involving the Ibrox club, Porteous, Stephen O’Donnell and Josh Ginnelly were sent off as the Ibrox club picked up full points.
