Craig Moore fears that Celtic’s profile in Australia has spooked Ibrox fans.

Having a former Socceroos boss in charge is one thing but one with the personality and appeal of Ange Postecoglou ups the stakes.

The Celtic boss seems to be on very familiar terms with some major media personalities with a flow of goodwill over his new job in Scotland.

Without Postecoglou the organisers of the Sydney Super Cup wouldn’t have given two Glasgow clubs a second thought but with the 56-year-old in charge of Celtic they have as big a profile as any club in the EPL.

Supporters on both sides of Glasgow have been quick to voice their opposition to a November friendly in Sydney with Moore explaining the issues for Ibrox fans during his appearance on Go Radio.

Picking up on the anger of Ibrox fans the Daily Record report the former Australian internationalist saying:

I can understand a little bit some of the supporters getting their knickers in a twist.

Ange in terms of the Australian manager, part of Celtic, coming back to Australia. I think the Rangers supporters will feel as if they’re like a bolt-on or in the shadows of this particular deal.

There’s a lot of people in Australia, just the opportunity to see these teams. It’s big business .

It seems the business, pounds and Aussie dollars has driven this week’s decision with the two visiting clubs hoping that the initial storm will blow over.

With an SPFL title to be played for providing a place in the Champions League there is plenty for both sets of fans to get worked up over before the two clubs head to Sydney.

The ranger footy klub are little fishies compared to the Mighty Glasgow Celtic on the world stage so if Wangers were to go to Oz, they’d feel even smaller…maybe that would explain their anger!
