On Saturday March 19 Video Celts picked up on news that Neil McCann had lost a First Tier appeal against a judgement from HMRC that they were owed money from his employment with HMRC. Today The Sun and Daily Record picked up on the story.
It is fair to say that many fans on Twitter were delighted by the news, sympathy for David Tanner’s former TV partner is thin on the ground.
Hi Neil, she might be 95 but she still deserves her Income Tax and National Insurance. Pay Up wee man.https://t.co/i4YK6chQvO

Back in his playing days McCann picked up £500,000 in an offshore fund that was later proven to be a disguised remuneration scheme, liable to Income Tax and National Insurance.
McCann stepped down from his regular Sky Sports gig in the summer of 2017 to manage Dundee. In October 2018 he was sacked from Dundee and returned to media work as well as working with the StormSportX football agency.
Now he is facing a large bill from HMRC or the cost of contesting the FTT ruling further.
A spokesperson for HMRC told The Sun:
We welcome this judgement, which agreed that the off-payroll working rules applied. These rules are in place to ensure that people who work like employees, but through their own limited company, are taxed like employees, creating a level playing field with other workers.
Good bit of footage from a while back.
Contains the Donald Findlay incident at a function after Rangers won the league.
Comments from Walter Smith and Ally McCoist are somewhat clumsy.
The young lady is articulate and calm, really nails a few points. pic.twitter.com/p6ZLOCI1vk— Lint (@Zeshankenzo) May 17, 2021
They are not sumwhat clumsy! They are both trying to make out it is ok to sing these songs if you are a rangers fan.
“He was a rangers supporter, and these are the songs that go with Rangers…”
So in other words, Rangers was a bigot club supported by bigot fans singing bigot songs.
If he was still alive would he say the same about Sevco? I dare anyone to try and deny there’s any difference between the two…same club in some (unfortunate) aspects at least…
Lol glad they eventually caught up with this crook.
One down with plenty more to go in the same direction.
