Michael Gannon has suggested that events at Ibrox on Thursday night might take some ‘jam out of the doughnut’ from Celtic’s likely SPFL Premiership success.

Earlier this week Gannon’s newspaper, the Daily Record, published a story about Ibrox WAG’s being under attack inside Celtic Park last Sunday without any photographic or video evidence to support the story.

Yesterday some tame quotes from an international team-mate provided the Record with a warning that Liel Abada should seek an imminent move out of Celtic.

It is understandable that many of those that reported on events at Ibrox on Thursday night were enjoying the follow-up but how it can detract from Celtic is quite a leap.

Looking at the significance of today’s match against Hearts in today’s Daily Record, Gannon reports:

Postecoglou wants the win that will all but seal the deal against Hearts today and was typically forthright when invited to take a peek over the Glasgow fence and ask if it took a some of the jam out of the Parkhead doughnuts.

He said: “No. You know I don’t spend a lot of time thinking about it. At the end of the day, to win a title you have to be better than every club in this country. That is who ends up being champions.

“So that is what we are going to try and do. Rangers’ European success has been well deserved by them.

“They’ve had a great run in Europe and are a good side, a very good side. They were champions last year and undefeated for that year.

“They have done well in all the competitions this year. You know, I don’t think that detracts from our achievements – if anything it adds to our achievements if we can become champions.

“Because for us to become champions then I don’t think anyone can deny we have had to beat some pretty strong opposition. It could show there are two strong sides in this competition and that both of them will deserve to be in the Champions League on the back of their performances. That could reflect well on our league.”

A win over Hearts today would mean that Celtic’s points total couldn’t be beaten but no matter how significant the goal difference may be no trophy will be handed out.

Focus will then switch to Dundee United who could win Celtic the title by taking anything from Ibrox on Sunday before they host the hoops at Tannadice on Wednesday.

For the Last time, let’s not give room to bigots like GA non and his Daily Record scum. They can’t stand the fact that we are where we are today so let’s make it as unpleasant for them today as we can and finish them today.
