Sead Haksabanovic is reported to be undergoing a medical in London today ahead of his move to Celtic.
While Ange Postecoglou’s squad have enjoyed another blank midweek it seems that Celtic’s negotiating team have been hard at work, agreeing a deal with Rubin Kazan.
The Russian club are believed to be in serious financial trouble with less than two weeks to raise funds before the main European transfer windows are closed.
Late on Thursday night David Friel of The Sun reported:
CELTIC were last night closing in on a deal for Rubin Kazan’s Sead Haksabanovic.
SunSport understands the Montenegro star could undergo a medical in London within 24 hours.
And cash-strapped Kazan are set to accept a knockdown fee for the £6million winger.
Friel has strong contacts at Celtic, in February 2021 he broke the news that Neil Lennon was resigning 10 hours before the announcement to the London Stock Exchange.
There is some dubiety about Haksabanovic’s position with some claims that he is a winger with other reports that he is an attacking midfielder.
Celtic seem pretty well off for wingers but Postecoglou has brought a whole new approach to the club with Jota, Liel Abada and Daizen Maeda all brought to the club during his first year in charge.
Haksabanovic hasn’t played in any matches since the June Nations League matches for Montenegro, if the transfer is completed it could be a couple of weeks before he is ready to make his Celtic debut.
