Owen Moffat’s Mum, Lisa, has put together an emotional video to mark her son’s departure from Celtic to Blackpool.
From Primary School through until the start of this week the winger was professionally attached to Celtic, emotionally it was from birth!
Plenty of kids join the club at various levels only to fall by the wayside, not many make it all the way through to u-16 level and the offer of a professional contract.
Thank you and may God bless every single fan who has taken Owen (Moff) into their hearts from day
one, and wished him well both on the pitch and in public ?? “One of our own ?…To know him is to love him ?… Everywhere we go… ?”@anthonytlomax @Alanmoffat10 pic.twitter.com/4sqr5AMeJO— Lisa007 (@LisaLLLLL77) August 30, 2022
The Lockdown season clearly had an impact on Moffat’s career, a season effectively lost at a vital age but while he stuck it out at Celtic Aaron Hickey took the tourist route via Hearts and Bologna to the EPL at Brentford as a full Scotland internationalist.
Moffat’s Celtic farewell was in the pre-season match against Wiener Viktoria but however his career pans out he did make three first team appearances- picking up a League Cup winners medal along the way.
None of those top team appearances were at Celtic Park but while Tony Ralston headed in a vital goal against Ross County last December Moffat played a part in a goal that was one of the most important of the season.
Good luck in your new venture hope you do well.
