Ross Wilson’s imaginative Player Trading Model has apparently highlighted goalkeeper James Trafford, according to the Daily Mail.

Currently on loan at Bolton Wanderers from Manchester City, Trafford will have a long term plan within the City Group that is unlikely to involved playing behind James Tavernier and Borna Barisic.

It is very evident that there is no war-chest for Micky Beale to spend next month with an emphasis placed on loans and Bosman’s as well as the old favourite that players returning from injury are actually new signings.

The Daily Mail reports:

Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford, 20, who has impressed on loan at Bolton Wanderers, is attracting interest from Rangers.

Trafford has been sent out on loan in the last two seasons by City, having spent the first half of last term at Accrington Stanley.

He is now at Bolton, and has conceded just 19 goals in his 22 league appearances for the League One outfit, keeping 10 clean sheets.

His performances have caught the eye of Rangers, with the Scottish giants tracking the youngster ahead of next month’s transfer window.

The ‘Scottish giants’ are unlikely to be doing more than tracking a player at Manchester City with the EPL side looking to progress Trafford up the ladder until he can command a £10m plus fee similar to Angus Gunn when he joined Southampton in 2018 without getting near a meaningful match at the Etihad.
