Conor Hazard is wanted by Ross County as back-up to regular goalkeeper Ross Laidlaw.

The Irish internationalist spent 2022 on loan at JHK Helsinki where he helped them to win the Finnish title and played in UEFA qualifiers.

Back at Celtic the goalkeeping position is well covered with Hazard fourth choice behind Joe Hart, Benji Siegrist and Scott Bain.

Hazard has his place in Celtic folklore for saving the Hearts penalties in the Scottish Cup Final that secured the Quadruple Treble in 2020 but turning 25 in March it is clear that his future lies elsewhere.

At 18.47 in their Transfer Blog the Daily Record reports:

Ross County are looking to seal a loan deal for Celtic’s Conor Hazard, writes Scott Burns.

Malky Mackay wants to take the Northern Irish international to Dingwall for the second half of the season.

Hazard has just come back from a successful season-long loan with HJK Helsinki.

The Staggies want to bring in another keeper to add competition and injury cover in that position.

Hazard recently had his Celtic contract renewed to the summer of 2024 before he headed to Finland. The 24-year-old has previously had loans at Falkirk, Partick Thistle and Dundee.

Saturday’s 3-0 win over Kilmarnock brought Ross County back into the pack as one of four clubs on 20 points in joint bottom place in the Premiership.

A year ago Malky Mackay’s side were turning in to one of the form side’s in the country as they shifted clear of the drop zone to earn a place in the top half for the post split fixtures.

Getting out on loan seems the obvious move for Hazard before the inevitable Celtic exit after seven first team appearances in the Lockdown season.
