Ryan Kent is apparently a signing target for Burney with the newly promoted EPL side likely to send scouts to watch the Step Over Master before the end of this season.

Presumably their interest is based on someone having watched Kent recently, with three goals from 28 SPFL appearances it is unlikely that Vincent Kompany will be adding much of a goal threat it he signs Kent.

The Sun reports:

BURNLEY are set to run the rule over Ryan Kent in the coming weeks.

The Rangers star is entering the final stages of his Ibrox contract and is weighing up his future.

Kent looks set to head back to English football in the summer and Vincent Kompany’s Premier League new boys are interested.

The Ibrox winger missed the Light Blues’ clash with St Mirren through injury, but Burnley scouts are set to watch him before the end of the season.

Kent would have to fight for a place at the Clarets as Kompany already has Moroccan Anass Zaroury in his position.

Kent moved to Ibrox on a permanent basis on the final day of the summer 2019 transfer window with no sign of interest from the EPL.

It is difficult to see what improvements he has made to his game in the four years since with higher expectations now at EPL clubs.

Joe Aribo and Nathan Patterson have demonstrated that there is a massive gulf between playing at Ibrox and moving down south with Everton and Southampton likely to be playing in the Championship next season.

More chance of the banjo boy getting a gig with an Irish folk group than a EPL team, and would have to be a fairly shite folk group at that
