Inverness Caley Thistle have been allocated 8,000 tickets for the Scottish Cup Final with a further 2,000 available if demand is there.

Season Ticket holders can buy eight Hampden briefs but it seems that the switch in kick-off time will result in reduced demand.

Sponsors, other clubs and Debenture holders will all have an allocation but it looks like Celtic will have 40,000 fans inside Hampden Park covering more than three sides of the National Stadium.

Celtic have still to announce how they will split their tickets but covering the First Division side The Press & Journal reports:

The Caley Jags have been given 8,000 tickets for the match – with this being upgraded to 10,000 – if they sell them all.

However, the supporters trust said in their letter that the SFA’s “greed” and “incestuous relationship” with broadcasters will result in fewer fans attending the final.

It said: “These events highlight the need for fans to reclaim control of the sport and as representatives of these fans, we demand that the clubs and the administrators respect our indispensable position. 50% of football income is derived from turnstile fees.

An increasing number of people are being offended by the rapacious pursuit of money in professional sport and current events serve to highlight these concerns.”

Technically the clubs are the SFA but it seems that the blazers at Hampden have given up the traditional kick-off time to accommodate BBC who will be showing the FA Cup Final from Wembley at 3pm.

Caley Thistle’s 8,000 allocation will cover half of the South Stand and one or two sections of the West Stand.

Viaplay will also show the match but with a terrestrial broadcaster also involved the audience for the subscription channel will be minimal.

Not sure what any of this means apart from the first few words.

As a Celtic fan and someone who has attended all cup games this season, ICT should get as many as they can sell, up to 50%.

Hampden is a neutral venue and the support spilt should reflect that as much as possible. It should be a spectacle and showcase of the national cup competition.

I know many Celtic fans will be left disappointed but unfortunately, until we have a bigger (and much better) national stadium, demand will always exceed supply.
