It wasn’t just Connor Goldson that ‘got away with one’ during Aberdeen’s visit to Ibrox on Sunday.

Social media has picked up on the multiple fouls carried out on Duk that John Beaton, his assistant and Steven Kirkland on VAR failed to act on.

PLZ Soccer picked up on that one, highlighting a 52 match SPFL run for the Ibrox club without conceding a penalty.

Wearing a different kit it isn’t ridiculous to suggest that Goldson could have had six or seven penalties awarded against him since the World Cup break, Saturday’s incident would have resulted in a red card elsewhere. Beaton wasn’t slow to red card Callum McGregor when Celtic beat Motherwell in October.

Todd Cantwell has quickly realised the special allowances that his team-mates get from Scottish referees.

The incident with Liam Scales went largely unreported, having turned around to aim a knee at his opponent followed by raising his arms the former Norwich starlet wouldn’t have got away with anything similar in the English Championship.
