Micky Beale has had an offer for Feyenoord striker Danilo rejected by the Dutch champions.
With pre-season training just three days away Beale is seriously short on strikers with only Sam Lammers added to his striking options with the former Atalanta man far from prolific.
Leaking details of low-ball bids for players is a favoured tactic at Ibrox followed by claims that they won’t be held to ransom and have other targets in mind.
The Sun reports:
RANGERS have made an offer for Feyenoord’s Danilo – but their opening bid has been turned down.
The Brazilian striker has emerged as a transfer option for the Ibrox club as Michael Beale looks to bolster his attacking options.
It’s understood the Gers have now, made their move to land Danilo who only joined Feyenoord last summer.
SunSport understands, however, that the Gers’ opening offer hasn’t matched what Feyenoord would be looking for and as a result, it’s been kicked-out by the Dutch outfit.
He’s under contract in Rotterdam until 2026 and the clubs are, at this stage, far apart in their valuation of the player.
Danilo has guaranteed Champions League football to look forward to at Feyenoord next season while Beale’s squad face two qualifying rounds to join Celtic in the elite event.
With no sign of offers coming in for Kemar Roofe, John Lundstram, Borna Barisic or Glen Kamara it is unlikely that Beale will be paying out on transfer fees until some of the deadwood is shifted.
Mammy Rammers will just have to bear the burden of scoring for sevco alone then.
That’s a guaranteed 3 goals a season.
Whew!
Maybe they could organise a whip round for a new striker ,or as the saying was expressed so eloquently on Auf Wiedersehen Pet …. ‘A whip it out !’ Why aye man !
it looks like the refs will have a busy season with tavpen being top scorer this season , must get down the bookies !!
Far apart?
Feyenoord: We want money for this player.
Huns: Naw, counter offer – gies him fur nuhin’?
It was reported today that the new CEO Bisgrove has appointed his own replacement
as Chief Commercial Officer.
You would think that the bears would be happier if the Sporting Director role
had been filled as a priority instead?
Ross Wilson his position over 2 months ago, in mid-April.
So, Beale has to continue learning his craft as a manager,
going into his first full season at Ibrox,
– whilst also continuing to cover for the Sporting Director role?!
That’s the sevco story right there:
unwilling/unable to bring in a Sporting Director = unwilling/unable to buy players.
The offer was a Lucky Bag, in instalments.
Feyenoord wouldn’t “Dutch” The Huns with a barge pole regards dealings and no one else will come within a cuntry mile of The C U N-ext T-uesday S-evco !
Why dont 2012 contact queens park, they are looking for players, for the bench.
