BBC Scotland have won the bidding rights to show the Champions League qualifier from Ibrox on August 9.

The state broadcaster very rarely shows anything other than left-over Scottish Cup ties live or matches from the Scottish Championship but have found the funds for a night out at Ibrox.

When it comes to Scotland international matches BBC Scotland lost out to Premier Sports and Viaplay.

Now, the organisation that pays Kenny Macintyre, Tom English, Jane Lewis, Steven Thompson and pundits like Neil McCann, Kenny Miller and Richard Forster will be on the gantry as Micky Beale’s side attempt to reach the Play Off round to join Celtic in the group stage.

No decision can be taken until the opponents are known, Servette and Genk drew 1-1 in the first leg in Geneva.

The Play Off round and group stage matches will all be on TNT Sports, the successor to BT Sport.

Jeez , BBC Scotland sport ,ahem , have nailed it’s colours to the mast early pre season this time . The latest love fest between Ibrox and the nationally funded broadcaster has never been as obvious as this fine romance before . What’s next ? Reporting Scotland …live from Auchenhowie ! ??????

  • TicToc says:

Our current chairman, PTL, is in an advantaged position to do something about this, as are all BBC licence-payers.
I will take action by contacting CP and also the BBC in this regard, as I’ve done many times before on other matters. If enough Celtic supporters take similar action or we get a supporter-led ‘voice’ by coming together with the CSA, CST, Celtic bloggers et cetera we can COLLECTIVELY do something. But too many are content to ‘sit at the back of the bus’ and IMHO are moral cowards.

Lol all the more enjoyable for it to be on council TV as it will be even more people to laugh at them when they get a right good scudding.

    Don’t pay the viewing Tax.
Stop funding the Hun sycophants at the BEEB.

YOU KNOW IT MAKES SENSE, THEY’RE JUST
RIPPIN THE PISH OUT OF YOU AND GETTING PAID FOR IT.
HAVE SFA TO DO WITH THEM.
