Ben Siegrist has spoken out about his plan to move to Australia at some stage.

A year ago the goalkeeper moved from Dundee United to Celtic in the expectation of pushing Joe Hart for the first team jersey.

Siegrist made two appearances in the League Cup but teamed up with Brittany Hockley following Celtic’s participation in the Sydney Super Cup and has continued that relationship since returning to Scotland.

During the close season the Celtic keeper was back in Australia sharing his enjoyment on Instagram with plans being made for a permanent move.

Picking up on an interview given in Australia, The Sun reports Siegrist saying:

I’m a very private person and like keeping to myself, but me wanting to open up to Britt was a sign. She listens and she makes me laugh so much.

She’s so kind and always wants to help people and lift other people up. She really is the full package. I didn’t know what the future held, but I wanted it to be with her.

And we will work out everything from now until the day I’ll probably move to Australia.

Siegrist is under contract with Celtic until June 2026, the same length of time that Scott Bain is contracted for.

With Joe Hart in the final year of his contract the goalkeeping position is one that Brendan Rodgers is probably looking at but it is difficult to bring in a keeper of good quality that will start off as back-up to the former England man.

    Different ‘transfer news’ / speculation.

Now that Gerrard has signed on as manager of a Saudi club,

Beale could do a lot worse than rejoin Gerrard as his coach,

whilst getting paid a multiple of his Ibrox income, tax-free.

Beale’s got his very own version of “Mission Impossible” at Ibrox:

if he doesn’t deliver the jackpot of CL Group Stage qualification,

then the Blue Room might have him terminated…? 🙂

We have five first team goalies, all competing for one shirt. Something not quite right there then?!
Sometimes you just have to jump and make a decision. No, really!
I would give Hazard a season with the jersey, with Joe as his close mentor.
That way we get Joe’s vast experience and a ready made goalie!
We / he’d hardly get a better opportunity than that!

Siegrist is good enough to be first-team ‘keeper.
