The SPFL has issued a humiliating apology to the Ibrox Tribute Act to apparently end the dispute over the Cinch sponsorship of the four divisions.

Just before the start of the 2021/22 season Neil Doncaster was boasting about finally landing a sponsor for the SPFL with Cinch getting a four year contract for the same amount that they were paying Spurs to have their logo on the sleeve of their kit for one season.

The SPFL deal involved clubs in all four divisions wearing the cinch crest and providing pitchside and billboard advertising as well as promoting Cinch on their websites.

When the Ibrox club said No, Doncaster renegotiated another deal that forced the other 11 clubs to provide more coverage to Cinch to protect the hapless CEO of the SPFL.

Recently there has been threats from Ibrox over legal action against the SPFL, in trademark fashion they have caved in with a secret deal struck with the club founded in 2012 by Charles Green.

There is no mention of the new agreement on the SPFL website but BBC Scotland reports:

“The SPFL regrets any damage to the reputation of Rangers and Park’s as a result of the dispute,” said the SPFL.

“The SPFL has accepted that Rangers had a pre-existing contract with Park’s at the point that the SPFL entered into its title sponsorship contract with cinch in June 2021.

“All three parties have now agreed to withdraw the resulting Scottish FA arbitration, with the SPFL making a contribution to the costs of Rangers and Park’s. These sums will be donated to charity.”

SPFL Chairman Murdoch MacLennan added his apologies and regrets with no sign of £400,000/year Doncaster having anything to say.

I am particularly grateful for the constructive approach shown by all parties in helping resolve this long-running situation and am very happy to apologise if there has been any damage to the reputation of Rangers FC or Park’s of Hamilton.

Michael Nicholson is currently on the SPFL Board of Directors which consists of Doncaster (CEO), MacLennan (Chairman), Karyn McCluskey (non-executive), James MacDonald (Ross County), Les Gray (Hamilton Academical), Graeme Mathie (Ayr United), Alastair Donald (Forfar Athletic) and Paul Hetherington (Airdrieonians).

Nicholson is expected to step aside for the new season with his business partner James Bisgrove joining the Board for 12 months.

Never in my life have I witnessed such spineless individuals that run a so called country’s football leagues bowing to an entity that went out its way to be problematic from there resurrection, they have opened up a whole load of problems for any company wanting to invest in scottish football,I would urge all clubs in Scotland to now refuse to promote cinch as if you don’t you still get league money ^ apologies from the dafties that run scottish football

Look at the state of that speckie FUD ,he looks like a right DOPEY C**T.
This is only the start of it as sevco will trample all over the ARSEHOLES in charge of the league, sevco will now go to town and our own club and others have asked for that,as they sat back and watched sevco walked all over speckie Doncaster and the rest.
Watch now as the season goes on and sevco don’t get the results on the park, they will then put more pressure on SPECKIE&Co do them more favours and there is nothing we can do about.

The rest of it is crude, to be honest. If you can’t get your mind out of the toilet, maybe you should stay home!

You’re so right scud,ok you’re not a missile but at times I’m on your wavelength, our club should have buried those bastards long ago , because our club itself was nearly broke, only because that fuckin David Murray asked the bank of Scotland to foreclose on Celtic debt, that cunt Murray was way over drawn than us ,but because he was a big fucking arrogant so called billionaire, anyway we are now the club that spends ,to quote David Murray, The mighty Glasgow Celtic will spend ,a fiver the mooch spends we will a million more, Glasgow Celtic

  • Jim Duffy says:

Only if fuckin jockland can this go on ,I give up wondering if decisions could even out.,I live in England where they take the pish out of ya jockland football, but I tell teams like Brighton, Burnley, Bournemouth etc ,oh I digress but jockland football will never improve because it is run by bigoted useless officials, for example how many jockland refs have been at the last uefa or FIFA tournaments, none because they are blind sided by the rotten bigoted SFA.
