There has been complete silence from Ibrox over the Union Bears banner and Tifo tribute to New York gang leader William Poole.

In the 1800s Poole led the Brewery Boys which targeted Irish and Catholic people for violence in and around Manhattan.

James Bisgrove refers to the Union Bears as stakeholders and regularly holds talks with the right-wing Ultras group, in May Football Scotland reported the incoming Ibrox CEO saying:

We will engage frequently with our supporters. Even this week I’ve had conversations with the North American Rangers Supporters Association, we met a few weeks ago with the Union Bears, we’re meeting with the RSA.

Having that dialogue, being able to understand what’s important to supporters and being able to explain our decisions, we won’t always agree on everything but we’ll be prepared to communicate.

And I think you’ll see that in our interactions with other stakeholders – with UEFA, other clubs in Scotland. The media as well – that’s another area we want to build relationships. We want to be visible and outward-facing to make sure that the brand of Rangers is shown in the best possible light.

With his silence over last night’s Tifo tribute to Poole it can only be assumed that Bisgrove was comfortable with the display as well as the NO SURRENDER OR YOU’LL DIE banner.

Bisgrove is big on digital engagement and will be well aware of the content and social media reaction.

With BBC Scotland and STV choosing to ignore the banners Bisgrove is probably hoping to ride the issue out but UEFA are unlikely to be as compliant.

Hopefully the European bodies will dish out the proper punishment but I would not hold my breath, because in saying that its a nice wee squirrel story for the Celtic minded blogs including this one and others to focus on rather than our own TROUBLES at our own club.
I posted a number of articles on here yesterday and on another Celtic blog calling out the board and inparticular LAWELL,I will use his Sunday name as for some reason Mr McVittie seems to be annoying people.
What I posted previously was the TRUTH a few home TRUTHS and both blogs didn’t like it,so the posts got took down.
Good luck to our club for what’s left of our season because it’s luck we are going to need.
And to think we took the piss out of Beale when he quoted Ange as a very lucky man,at this particular moment and time the shoe is now on the other foot.BOOM!

Jesus – “we want to build relationships with the media” – You simply couldn’t mark their necks if you threw them into the fires of Hell !

Build relationships – In my days of media reading, they were so far up Murray, McLeish and The man with no surname’s (Walter) arse that it was patently obvious where they found all the shit that they wrote…

And as a non media reader for decades now, my beloved Celtic forums sure tell me that nothing has changed on that sphere of late – in fact it’s getting worse !

They’ll be super protected all the way by the media here and Celtic fans or the blogs with probably more clout than fans – PLEASE INFORM UEFA !!!

Why would the Ibrox authority be remotely interested in condemning bigotry ,racism and other disgraceful acts of illegalities? Those heinous crimes are still extremely lucrative to the clumpany ! Never look a gift horse in the mouth ,and all that ….There is plenty of money to be made from being half morons … evidently !
