There was barely a dissenting voice on Twitter yesterday as Celtic fans reacted to the 2-0 home defeat from Hearts and in particular to the chants aimed at Peter Lawwell who conveniently wasn’t in his favoured armchair in the Directors Box.

With close to 90,000 followers on Twitter CU is a well established and respected account but not quite as prominent as it was a decade ago.

Now and then the CU account is handed over to Harry Brady, recently at the AGM where he provided a commentary that covered some but not all of the criticism aimed at the Celtic board with Lawwell the main target for the few malcontents among the shareholders.

CU noted that yesterday’s chants aimed at both Lawwell family members didn’t come from the angry young fans that make up the Green Brigade but from an older, normally more reserved section of supporters. Season Ticket holders.

They’ve been trampled on and patronised while warmed about the so-called Waiting List, during the summer with the club swimming in profits and record turnover Season Ticket prices rose by 6% with two matches removed taking the package down to 19 SPFL matches. As a reward they were able to buy Champions League packages for just £138 as the team crumbled against less than elite opposition.

Meanwhile Directors saw their pay increase from £25,000 to £40,000 for attending six board meetings a year and turning up for hospitality and first class travel to every match, plus expenses.

A whole host of issues have been brewing but masked by success on the park, with that success crumbling in front of them many supporters many are letting off steam with Lawwell, the man behind multiple failures and horrendous decision making the obvious target.

Malmo, Maribor, AEK Athens, Molde, Copenhagen, Ferencvaros, Cluj, Sparta Prague all exposed Lawwell on the park, off it he brought Vakoun Bayo, Youssouf Mulumbo, Marian Shved, Ismaila Soro, Patriyk Klimala, Vasilis Barkas, Boli Bolingoli and Albian Ajeti to the clup topped up by expensive loans for Oli Burke, Diego Laxalt, Shane Duffy and Jonjo Kenny. He even signed Manny Perez and Andrew Gutman who weren’t even permitted to be employed in the UK such was the arrogance.

With the Lawwell Loyal extending into fan media ‘Harry Brady’ produced an incredible gushing podcast with big Peter explaining his brilliance with the questions as probing as Jim Whyte interviewing one of his Ibrox heroes.

Promoted to minor In The Know status Brady pops up to share snippets from his masters table whenever possible but wisely steering clear of Twitter when the claims are overwhelming against the man responsible for every single executive appointment inside Celtic Park- and the complete failure to challenge the SFA.

‘Brady’ did actually ask a very good question at last month’s AGM when he highlighted the values of players signed and sold by Celtic against a couple of other clubs out with the big five.

Unfortunately when you start a question with ‘Lovely to see you back again Peter’ it is difficult to be taken seriously.

Should Peter and Mark Lawwell be removed from their jobs?

Wtf is Dermot Desmomd think of this. Is he blind or he just doesnt care enough to aee thqt if you back the manager you will progress, if you dont, you wont. Lawwells reign at Celtic has been a self inflicted disaster

Dynasties do not work at football clubs and Celtic know this very well from the Kelly era . The Lawell dynasty had run its course and should not have been reignited by Peters appointment as Chairman and his sons appointment to recruitment!. It is now time for change in the boardroom and not just PL . Celtic Fans deserve to see a structure of team building which can incorporate projects but not for the sole purpose of the balance sheet!

We keep hearing we need quality. So it’s upto the board to provide the funds to get that. If the board are ambitious to see Celtic progress in the Champions League instead of just relying on the team to won the domestic league to get that cash boost every season.
The board should be looking to invest in the players that could help bring that success and the further we get in Europe the more money we get.
If the board doesn’t want to splash out why not get experienced players that are end of contract and offer good salaries to come, so they save on transfer fees.

Once again we needed very little, 2 players maybe four in the not too expensive category, price £3-5 million, outlay £6-£20 million, from a bank balance of £72 million ,with another £30-40 million guaranteed.
Instead old firm plc do absolutely nothing, apart from squander £20 million on projects, and once more we remain at old firm level, job done.
I do not know what other possible conclusion one can arrive at after the chances we’ve had over the last 20 years to move out of sight, and maybe even provide the odd european thrill, but no that’s not for the likes of us, when we have an old firm partner to look after.
