After being sent off against Celtic Leon Balogun appeared to spit at supporters as he walked down the tunnel alongside an Ibrox staff member.

The former QPR defender moved to Ibrox in the summer as a free agent and has been Connor Goldson’s regular partner in central defence.

Seventy minutes into today’s match Balogun was caught out with a poor touch that gave possession to Daizen Maeda. Caught on the wrong side the veteran defender bundled into the back of Maeda, denying a clear opportunity at goal with Nick Walsh forced into issuing a straight red card.

Balogun had plenty of time to compose himself as he walked off the park, as he passed his side’s dug-out he cleared his nose then appeared to spit at the goading Celtic fans.

It is unclear whether the SFA or Police Scotland will take any action other than Balogun being suspended for Tuesday’s home match against Kilmarnock.

  • Bob (original) says:

Morelos gave us the ‘slashed throat’ gesture when leaving the Celtic pitch,

and now this guy is gobbing at the punters.

A sevco player getting sent off for a rugby tackle – it’s soooo unfair. 🙂

Classy players for a classy club, not.

And Kent did the ‘I’m gonna shoot youse’ imitation to all The Celtic Supporters (as well as a full on uppercut to Broonie) right in front of the referee that went unpunished…

They truly are vile vile peepil and there is a red mist that seems to decend upon what were probably normal people after they start to be employed in that bastion of bigotry that is Liebrox –

Thugs and bullies like them need met with Brick for Brick, Boot for Boot, Bottle for Bottle and Blade for Blade and in Kent’s war games Bullet for Bullet !

  • Tam says:

Absolutely disgusting and it’s caught on camera ….yet the SMSM are more interested in a penalty that wasn’t given.

Press charges and report to the police whoever it was spat on and the witnesses should report it as well. This should be dealt with by the law. We can see that not only their fans are a disgrace and need to be absent to ensure safety, but it looks as if their team are indisciplined as well.
There are plenty of witnesses to the spitting as well as this video evidence.

This is the most shameful club in existence, which encourages cheating and antisocial behaviour as well as anti-Irish racism and anti-Catholic bigotry, and now spitting at fans. There were also some attempts at assault on the park against our players. The officials, whether by design or innate actions referee games involving them to suit them more than the opposition. Despite that today, we got the result by shear quality of play. They just cannot play fairly and take the huff when shown up for what they are.
The authorities are as much to blame, as are the match officials, as by doing nothing they provide the platform to encourage this. The Ibrox team’s manager also encouraged all this by his touchline mis-behaviour and constant efforts to put pressure on the 4th official. Today, it was fortunate that 3 of their players were offside at the penalty claim, which in their totally biased world they are complaining about. Their new manager from Belgium has shown all the desirable qualities to make him part of the fabric at that utterly offensive institution. No wonder he appealed to them and they employed him. They go for a certain type. Their captain Tavernier is the only one who seems capable to keeping his composure.

In contrast, our players’ behaviour was impeccable as usual, despite the provocation from lunging tackles. I am proud of my team. The supporters of Sevco know in their hearts that their mob is just that – a mob with little discipline. You cannot have any pride in what they do or what they stand for. Once again, they have been shown up!
