Ianis Hagi’s tragic Ibrox exit

Ianis Hagi’s contribution to the Glasgow Derby lasted just 17 minutes.

The Ibrox ace replaced Nedim Bajrami in the 66th minute then hobbled off down the tunnel in the 83rd minute with Bailey Rice taking his place.

With his contract up at the end of this season it looks unlikely that Hagi will be back for any of the three dead rubbers that Barry Ferguson’s side has to play.

The Romanian midfielder appeared to twist his knee diving for a penalty, after getting treatment on the pitch and appearing to recover he quickly disappeared up the tunnel, almost certainly ending his Ibrox career.

Having flopped in Spain, Italy, Belgium and Scotland it looks like Turkey will be the next stop off on Ianis’ career as he drifts towards obscurity.

Having cost £3m from Genk in the summer of 2020 Hagi will be on close to £30,000 a week, earlier this season he waived a bonus agreement in order to become a free agent when his contract expires.
