Stranraer 3-4 Celtic B Watch extended highlights

The Celtic B team won an entertaining KDM Trophy match 4-3 at Stranraer on Tuesday night.

Adding to the entertainment was the commentary provided by Stranraer TV.

Stranraer may be stuck in SPFL League Two but they know how to communicate and engage with their fans.

Included in their 20 minutes highlight package was two well placed cameras behind the goals which were well used.

The only downside was the poor floodlights which made some of the viewing difficult.

What did shine through was the style of play from the young Celts.

Despite the heavy surface they stuck to their beliefs of playing the ball on the deck and using both flanks.

Rhys Dargie, currently on loan at East Kilbride, scored a hat-trick which included two well placed penalty kicks.

Celtic were trailing 1-0 at the break but levelled with a Dargie penalty in the 46th minute.

The Stranraer goal was from a penalty that almost the entire Celtic team claimed was a double touch by James Dolan.

By the hour mark Celtic were trailing 3-1 with a few saves and blocks from goalkeeper Corey Shaw keeping the hoops in contention.

Dargie equalised in the 85th minute with Sean McArdle popping in a 25 yard winner a minute later.

Most will be in Lowland League West action away to Kilwinning Rangers.

Dargie and B team captain Liam Kennedy will be at East Kilbride while Thomas Hatton is out on loan at Ayr United.

After three matches in the KDM Trophy Celtic have an impressive tally of seven points from three matches.

Their next match for Celtic B in that tournament is on September 22 away to East Kilbride which should be interesting for Kennedy and Dargie.
