Most of the Real Madrid first team squad are tracking the Daily Record Live blog to find out if Dave Ancelotti has got the gig of managing at Ibrox.
That is the incredible claim published this afternoon by BBC Scotland as they attempt to compete with the incredible flow of good news stories being churned out by the Daily Record.
According to the ailing Glasgow based publisher the new manager will be handed a £120m transfer kitty to stave off Charlton’s bid to sign Josh Doig.
Refusing to take a back seat BBC Scotland now has Luka Modric and his Real mates piling the pressure on for Ancelotti Jnr to be given his first ever job outside the shadow cast by his Daddy.
Despite their own vast staff resources BBC Scotland have colluded with Guillem Balague to come up with the sort of fantasy that Football Insider or Teamtalk would blush over publishing.
In shameless fashion BBC Scotland report:
Real players have heard about Ancelotti’s potential destination, including 39-year-old midfielder Luka Modric, who is leaving the Spanish giants this summer but has yet to decide on his next move.
However, Rangers’ ongoing takeover has slowed the process.
With no takeover and no manager since February 23 a little reality kicks in with:
Rangers are now up against the clock.
If a decision isn’t reached by the end of this week – or, at the very latest, by the first week of June – they risk missing out on Ancelotti.
The Italian has options – three other high-level opportunities – from clubs that value Ancelotti’s experience, his modern approach, and ability to connect every layer of a club: from the dressing room, to the media, the ownership, and the boardroom.
Looks like the Ancelotti camp are preparing to walk away from the non-deal:
At Real Madrid, he was widely credited by players as the architect of many modern improvements. Internally, some believe Carlo wouldn’t have won as much in his second spell at the Bernabeu without Davide at his side.
And the players know it, including Modric. When asked whether he’d fancy coming to Rangers, he didn’t say no.
Whether or not that’s realistic, it shows the kind of gravitational pull Davide carries – backed not just by a famous surname, but by the trust of elite players.
Other players have also asked Ancelotti to take them to Scotland.
With Dave having previously worked with Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema it seems like Cyriel Dessers might have some serious competition for his place next season.
A mysterious Instagram linked to Kylian Mbappe has started to follow the accounts of Connor Barron and John Souttar.

They risk missing out on a guy who has no management experience or indeed football experience apart from accompanying his papa to games.
These peepul are so stupid they are worried about this utter shite.
“At Real Madrid, he was widely credited by players as the architect of many modern improvements. Internally, some believe Carlo wouldn’t have won as much in his second spell at the Bernabeu without Davide at his side.”
Next they’ll be telling us that some unheralded former coach of the Liverpool under 5’s team with no background as a player was – ahem – “the brains behind Gerrard”…
Pull the other one, Daily Record – it plays “She’ll Be Coming Round The Mountain When She Comes”!!
“…And the players know it, including Modric. When asked whether he’d fancy coming to Rangers, he didn’t say no…”
If Modric signs for sevco, I’ll run naked down Buchanan Street singing “Simply the Best!”, and wearing a Tina Turner wig.
The DR is waaaaay past beyond parody! 🙂
As soon as I read this piece on BBC, I was awaiting a videocelts.com response. It hasn’t dissapointed me one bit ?
They are the gift that refuses to stop giving…
Absolute tossers.
As I said previously on a post, jnr and his auld man remind me of the 2 characters from the Dick Emery show from yesteryear, with him and Roy Kinnear as the father and son team that always fuck it up,with Dick Emery’s catchphrase at the end of the sketch being to Roy Kinnear ,dad ah think I got it wrong again, dad.
That BBC SCOTLAND and the ARSEHOLES in the Scottish press get away with murder.
Really strong article about Celtic this
