With two days left in the transfer window Celtic appear to have a 50-50 chance of signing Kasper Dolberg from Anderlecht.
Anyone familiar with Michael ‘world class in everything that we do’ Nicholson will be expecting the striker to be introduced as a Borussia Monchengladbach signing anytime now.
Apparently the Celtic CEO is a leading Sports Lawyer but since Frank Trimboli was forced into a back seat in July 2022 recruitment at Celtic has been an absolute shambles.
Fortunately over the course of two windows Ange Postecoglou and Trimboli were able to build a squad that formed the basis of four SPFL Premiership title wins.
Nicholson has almost chipped away at all of that squad as Celtic’s performances against Kairat Almaty illustrated.
He’ll go to whoever offers him the most money.
Anyway, Welcome to Gladbach Kasper Dolberg! https://t.co/pWIjiRYt4v

How do you rate Celtic's transfer business
OUTSTANDING- exactly what the team needed
ON HOLD- They'll come good by September 1
HORRENDOUS- Looking as bad as 2023
This transfer window has seen the club identify promising players followed by by low-balling offers from Nicholson such as in the case of Go Ahead Eagles winger Jakob Breum.
The failure to act professionally has had a knock on effect with Marco Tilio and Yang Hyun-jun held onto despite being of little use with other deals lined up to move on.
Failure to complete the deal for Dolberg has now held up Adam Idah’s move to Swansea, resulting in the striker returning to Glasgow on Friday night.
It looks like Nicholson’s failings during this window could now surpass some of the legendary business conducted by his mentor Peter Lawwell.

F#ck the lot of them, tory b@st@rds
50/50 maybe if it was 50 pence we would be in with a chance, what is it that we don’t understand they spend 3 million pre champions league and get kicked out and now post champions league we will spend 11 million please stop it just stop it ,your making us look fools stop giving them your money
After being accused of bring a board apologist I would like to say this.
There were two games that the board should have had in mind at the start of the transfer window, the Champion’s League qualifier and the Sevco game tomorrow and the main targets should have been in place ready for them
The fact that they are not speaks volumes… of incompetence and dereliction of duty. It also indicates economic stupidity when you refuse to spend £20 million to guarantee £40 million.
But I will repeat “Sack the Board” means absolutely nothing unless DD agrees and or the fans stop going.
I don’t think either is a possibility.
Editor: No fan needs to justify or give a reasoned argument to justify saying or chanting SACK THE BOARD. If they decide not to buy the latest tat being pushed by the club to lighten their wallet that is clearly their choice, we don’t do group-think, that is best left to the devotees of Korean Quick News.
This is shaping up to be another Celtic board classic .
Our hopes get built up for a good player coming in
Then he signs for another team because these rats make a pigs ear of it
I’d rant and rave and swear but I can’t be bothered anymore .
I despise them even just seeing their faces annoys me
Nicholson & Lawwell already had Tilio and Yang recalled, now they’ve brought Adam Idah back! Any chance they could bring back hanging.
You’d think that CEO Nicholson has been discreetly having some intense media training recently?I
If the Board has any hope of mending its relationship with the paying punters,
Nicholson has to front up – and communicate in person.
Even if it’s just a soft, in-house interview to start with?
His continued silence is most harmful:
comes across as disinterested in what his Customers think. Never a good look…
Why the f**k is that baldy fud still in the building, remember it’s fans keeping him in a job by selling out the stadium, and that is only encouraging him.
That photo of Nicholson above looks as if he went to school in the grey bus.
What Celtic need is an activist investor.
Someone who holds enough shares to question the current performance metrics that are in place for the board.
Just enough, is not good enough.
