The knives are out- four games in and Ibrox fans turn on Danny Rohl

Four matches in and some loyal bears are starting to doubt the brilliance of Danny Rohl.

The German may be about to discover that it takes more than a club suit, brown brogues and a double dose of poppies to cut it at Ibrox.

Wins over Kilmarnock and Hibs gave some hope to the Gullible & Deluded. Plus Rohl wasn’t the despised Russell Martin.

THE NEXT MESSIAH?

Ibrox fans are desperate for someone to end their 13-year nightmare, it should have been Steven Gerrard, then Kev Muscatt. Instead they ended up with a 36-year-old German with a shiny smile.

Rohl has a great pedigree as a coach but management requires a very different skill set. Especially at Ibrox. A misplaced superiority complex is hard to deal with. Especially when fans are watching the greatest ever period of domestic domination across the city.

Rohl has taken all that on board. He can expect an early pay off but Micky Beale, Phil Clement and Giovanni van Bronckhorst all remain traumatised by their failures at Ibrox.

Whenever teams are toiling anyone not playing becomes a superstar. A focus for anger and resentment against clueless managers.

THE DUNDONIAN XAVI?

Lyall Cameron however seems to be taking that theory too far.

The tiny midfielder looked OK at Dundee but no-one else was showing interest when a pre-contract deal was signed. The transfer fee has still to be decided.

After a 10 minute appearance in the win over Kilmarnock Cameron hasn’t made the squads for the games against Hibs and Celtic.

At Hampden Rohl had only one midfielder on the bench. The lumbering Joe Rothwell. He finished with a midfield of James Tavernier, Rothwell and Oliver Antman. They were overwhelmed.

Previewing the match with Roma, Rohl was asked about Cameron:

I think this is always abut how many players you can take and then you have to look at which positions you have to double up and what could happen during the game.

THELWELL FACTOR

A recent addition to the Ibrox fans hate list is Kev Thelwell, the Director of Football that Everton were happy to lose.

Thelwell seems to hold an awful lot of the power at Ibrox.

The summer signings were mainly duds, but are getting lots of playing time. The Cameron deal was signed off pre-Thelwell.

According to some of the message boards the reason that Cameron isn’t playing is because Thelwell is heavily involved in team selections and trying to justify the summer flops. Like Rothwell and Youssef Chermiti.

This honeymoon could be very short lived. After blaming the match officials for the defeat at Hampden many Ibrox fans are doubting Rohl’s decision making.

It won’t take too many more setbacks to get them screaming for change. Again.

And wearing a club suit, brogues and double poppies won’t be enough to save Rohl from the inevitable.

Kevin Thelwell”s son Robbie was involved in 12 senior signings at Norwich.

Norwich currently lie second bottom of the English championship, kept off the bottom by Sheffield Wednesdays points deduction.

He was “the outstanding candidate” for his role at Rangers. Get them out!
