ROHL OUT- furious Ibrox fans turn on their German ‘genius’

Danny Rohl is on borrowed time as manager at Ibrox.

The poor form of Hearts and Celtic through the winter presented the German with the perfect opportunity to win the SPFL title.

Rohl was given £12m to spend in the January transfer window. Match winner Andreas Skov Olsen was brought in on loan with a £7m option to buy.

When it comes to the big matches Rohl and his players don’t have the nous to deliver.

In six Europa League matches four were lost with a draw at home to Braga and a win over Ludogorets.

Two home matches against Celtic at the start of March gave Rohl the chance to leave his mark.

Celtic were away to Stuttgart and Aberdeen in the midweek before those fixtures.

A 2-2 draw after trailing 2-0 kept Celtic in the SPFL race. Celtic’s reserve side won the Scottish Cup tie on penalties.

Rohl survived that, rattling off four successive SPFL wins to go into the split full of delusions.

ROHL IS FOUND WANTING

In the first half today Motherwell played their hosts off the park.

Warm weather training in Marbella provided no benefit for Rohl’s side today with Motherwell worthy of their 2-0 half time lead.

By the 70th minute the match was level at 2-2. It looked ominous for Motherwell with Stephen Welsh off injured.

Rohl had nothing to offer. No tactical change, no substitutions to add an extra dimension.

In the 90th minute Stephen O’Donnell broke down the left. Captain Disappointed was badly out of position, jogging back as Motherwell broke.

Emmanuel Longelo cut inside, shot into the centre of the goal between Manny Fernandez and Super Jack Butland.

Kevin Clancy played 10 minutes of stoppage time. Mikey Moore scooped a shot over the bar from inside the six yard box.

Afterwards Rohl spoke about the need to win the four remaining cup finals.

Next Monday Rohl takes his side to Tynecastle, kicking off five points behind Hearts.
