Alan Thompson and Simon Donnelly have been discussing the rumoured Oasis gigs at Celtic Park next year.
Last year, a generation on from their last tour, Oasis hit the road with a worldwide tour that smashed box-office records across the globe.
Murrayfield was chosen for three concerts in Scotland with more than a few former Celtic players managing to get tickets.
The success of the ‘Live 25 tour has sparked speculation that Noel and Liam are planning to do it all over again.
With their football allegiances well known Celtic Park has been suggested as a Scottish venue with hoops fans all on board with that idea.

Donnelly:Â Were you lucky enough to go to any of the (Oasis) gigs?
Thompson: I wasn’t, but I’ve heard a little rumour that they might be playing at Celtic Park for four or five gigs next year. So, I’ve put few little feelers out.

Recalling the U2 concert in 1993 at Celtic Park
Donnelly: Yeah, I just signed at Celtic in 92 (the concert was August 93) and it was U2, I think it was Zooropa Tour. I managed to sneak in on the ground-staff. I think I’d try to do that again.
Thompson: Well, they’ve got a connection, Celtic with Irish. Yeah. And then the song they play the song before the game, don’t they?

The last concert at Celtic Park was in 1997 with Wet Wet Wet.
With the stadium still under constriction the stage area sat easily in front of where the Jock Stein Stand is now placed.
Fergus McCann was Chairman of Celtic at the time and eager to compete with Hampden for pop concerts.
It is believed that significant work would need to be done to make Celtic Park ready to stage concerts again. The dressing rooms wouldn’t be able to cope with modern requirements.
The biggest obstacle next summer will be the football calendar.
Whatever UEFA tournament Celtic are in they will be playing in the Second Qualifying Round in mid-July. The stage that Hearts, Hibs and Motherwell are currently involved in.
With the domestic season ending in mid May there would only be a short timespan to use Celtic Park for five concerts and have the pitch ready for mid July UEFA ties.
Oasis at Celtic Park would be an incredible money-spinner for all involved. Merchandise sales often are on a par with the income from ticket sales.
Hospitality rates would be higher than for any football fixture but like transfer signings fans will just have to wait for confirmation.
