Jim Gillespie made an outstanding contribution to the Banter Years this morning. Derek McInnes won’t be laughing.
The big noises at Ibrox invited shareholders to a meeting in which the strategy towards global domination would be explained to the Gullible & Deluded.
Gillespie came in from St Mirren as CEO earlier this year.
Like McInnes he is a staunch life long bear. He gets it.
And beyond that he appears to have no qualification for the job of being CEO at a football club.
The pressure is piling up on Derek McInnes.
Being staunch and lifting the Close Season Cup isn’t enough.
Dundee United, Jagiellonia and Hibs don’t care about the choice of footwear in the dug-out.
They look at the team-sheet and go out to exploit the multiple weaknesses in their opponents.
Dundee United had to settle for a draw. Despite conceding own goals Jagiellonia and Hibs won their matches.

After bottling it from the Sunderland job McInnes had a brief spell at Bristol City.
His record in England was W 17, D 24 L 32.
No offers came in from Manchester City or Liverpool.
The sanity of Andrew Cavenagh has been questioned. The soccer guy that appointed Russell Martin, Danny Rohl, McInnes and Gillespie.
The spotlight is now on Gillespie.

And then he speaks in public and commits the most horrific gaffe.
Gillespie probably meant to project McInnes into the category of the elite managers.
With Jagiellonia and St Mirren at Ibrox in the next few days the CEO is piling pressure onto his new manager. And himself.

Aye reports from training centre are that the culture at the club has fell off a cliff since Gerrard left . Hence why so many staff members have been shown the door . There’s a full rebuild at work at the club that’s been needed for a long time .
