Celtic will need to more than double their offer for Fares Ghedjemis to sign the winger.
It has widely been reported that Celtic placed a £6m bid for the Frosinone winger last week.
At a media conference on Friday Martin O’Neill admitted that he had strong interest in the Algerian international winger.
Celtic were similarly linked with Ghedjemis in January. When that prospect fell through they turned to Joel Mvuka.

On the basis of recent transfer activity is is difficult to see Celtic going above £8m for Ghedjemis.

This morning Celtic discovered the dates of their Champions League Play Off ties against LASK.
The home match will be on Wednesday August 19 with the return in Austria six days later.
Celtic have to register their squad on August 13, two changes can be made by 11pm on Tuesday the 18th.
O’Neill now has just two matches to get his side into shape for the Play Offs which open the door to eight matches in UEFA’s premier competition.
In season 24/25 Celtic played 10 matches in the Champions League, losing out to Bayern Munich for a place in the last 16.
That run generated a payment of £40m from UEFA, on top of ticket money, merchandising and sponsorship benefits.
Celtic have spent £1million Net on Hogh and Duran.

If they did bid, and that’s a big if, it’s only cos they know its getting knocked back, gives them that wee bit of validation they crave.
