Philippe Albert can’t understand why no EPL clubs have tried to sign Nico Raskin!
There are multiple answers for the former Newcastle United defender.
Mainly Raskin isn’t a very good footballer. A couple of all right performances for a team that reached the quarter-finals of the World Cup doesn’t change that.
Raskin moved to Ibrox in January 2023 and has no winners medals from his time in Scotland.
Last season his club finished third in the SPFL Premiership. They were knocked out of two UEFA competitions in the qualifiers. Losing to clubs from Poland and the Czech Republic.
And casting a huge shadow over Raskin is a recent arrival at West Ham.
Not only have Celtic dominated Scottish football but they sold a Belgian midfielder in the summer.
And since Raskin and Engels are the same nationality Ibrox fans demand that their midfielder is sold for a higher price than the ex-Celt.
Engels won four trophies in two seasons at Celtic. He played in 10 Champions League matches.
Raskin has won the Ibrox Player of the Year trophy once during three and a half years at the Tribute Act. Nothing else.
The Engels fee ensures that Raskin is trapped at Ibrox.
At a push he might attract an offer of £5m from a club in Turkey. Not £25m or Dembele Dollars.
He has not excelled at all. Why would anyone pay a decent fee for him?

Albert told FootNews:
He has proven in recent years that he is a class above, that he is the best player at Rangers.
Being better than Cyriel Dessers, Todd Cantwell and Ianis Hago isn’t going to get you a move to a top five league.
I have respect for the Scottish league, but a player like Raskin is wasting his time there. The fact that he hasn’t been transferred? I don’t understand why no Premier League club has made an offer.
Perhaps Albert should watch Raskin more often.
RASKIN- BANG AVERAGE ON A GOOD DAY
It was hard to notice the Belgian midfielder in the matches against Falkirk and Motherwell.
Every transfer window there is a contrived drama over Raskin.
Most of the links come from Turkish media reports and fizzle out within 48 hours.
Raskin was signed by Micky Beale and has failed under Phil Clement, Russell Martin and Danny Rohl.
With two years left on his contract the final summer transfer saga will take place next year.
Even with 12 months left on his contract Ibrox fans will be demanding at least £22m for their World Cup star.

As quoted above, he won player of the year ONCE at Sevco……and there’s been some dross there the last 3 years.
That tells the whole story.
