Celta Vigo played a new club anthem today before their home match against Real Betis.
The Galician club took much more than three points from their Europa League match against Celtic.
Fans returned home with a lifetime of memories. In years to come chat among Celta fans will start with the question ‘Were you at the Celtic match?’
As a reminder of the visit, before today’s match Let The People Sing was played over the PA system at the Estadio Abanca-Baladios. Unfortunately the match ended 0-0.
For the best part of 20 years The Malley’s version of Let The People Sing has been a regular part of the pre-match routine at Celtic Park.
Obviously it isn’t as well known as You’ll Never Walk Alone but LTPS is unlikely to be pinched and adapted by Liverpool fans or any other group of supporters.

CELTA FANS HAVE A LIFETIME OF GLASGOW MEMORIES
From touchdown in Glasgow the Celta fans seemed to have the time of the life. Like Seville and Lisbon rolled into one for Celtic fans without the painful extra-time defeat from Porto.
Glasgow in midweek isn’t Madrid or Barcelona but the attachment to Celtic was enough to get 3,000 Betis fans looking out their passports.
The story of Celtic lived through their supporters seems to be one that certain Spanish fans are easily attracted to.
Villarreal and Athletic Club of Bilbao have formed similar bonds with the Celtic support with the Vigo fans lapping up every moment of Thursday’s match.
Due to the actions of the Board of Directors the atmosphere at Celtic Park is currently badly diluted.
On Thursday night the home support were subdued throughout. In contrast the noise and singing from the away support was almost non-stop.
They were in early and reluctant to leave with their highlight being a second half double from Javi Rodriguez that delivered full points.
Now at home matches they will have a permanent reminder of their time in Glasgow with the pre-match airing of the classic from The Malley’s.
